An interdisciplinary artist who holds a Master of Fine Art from San Francisco Art Institute, Amber had been primarily working with textiles and quilting before the death of her mother, singer-songwriter Pegi Young. But when Pegi died, the world splintered apart for Amber, which dramatically affected her artistic process.

Amber Jean Young Amber is the third child of Neil who was diagnosed with epilepsy. Born in 1984, Amber Jean is known for her illustrative and creative paintings and artworks which she displays on social media and on her personal website. Young suffered from polio in 1952 during the last major outbreak of the disease in Ontario.

Amber Young, Neil Young, Pegi Young Pegi and Neil Young Since I have just learned about the death of Pegi Young, I thought about the magical evening when I ran into Pegi and Neil at Shepard Fairey's studio. Their daughter Amber Jean Young had an exhibit at Subliminal Projects, and the entire family was there, to my great surprise.

Amber Jean Young is a Bay Area-based artist working in quilting and textiles. Her work is a compilation of fractured images of her natural surroundings. I encountered Amber's work through the Botanical show at Bedford Gallery. Amber's piece was one of the many that stood out to me. We became Instagram buddies and then I contacted her this fall.

Their daughter, Amber, 35, a textile artist living in the Bay Area, was also born with health challenges in the form of epilepsy. On top of that, Zeke Young's mother, Carrie Snodgress, died in 2004, and taking over the raising of another son with cerebral palsy intensified Pegi's responsibilities.
